Brightlingsea:

Brightlingsea is part of the Cinque port; it was known to be Sandwich. We are a small town on the coast situated on the mouth of The River Colne.

To the west of Brightlingsea Creek is western Promenade where you find a line of beach huts, Skate Park, open

air swimming pool, boating lake and paddling pool.

It’s a popular area for tourists. Batemans Tower is a local landmark by the sea where you can look out to West Mersea and catch the water taxi over to.

Brightlingsea is also known for its sailing and every year in July holds its own Pyfleet week and has an annual Regatta and boat show in June.

In august there is an annual free music festival which is held on Hurst Green.

Nearby in Colchester - Britain’s oldest recorded town there is places to visit such as Colchester Castle, Mercury Theatre and Colchester zoo. A short drive away you can visit Dedham for its boating lake and history of the artist Constable.
